Paramount Pirates (Paramount, CA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Downey Vikings (Downey, CA), 61-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Paramount upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Pirates host La Serna (Whittier, CA) to play the Lancers in a non-league bout on Monday, December 21. The Lancers go into the bout with a record of 4-7. La Serna won 64-47 in their recent non-league bout against Pomona (Pomona, CA)

Next up, the Vikings play the Lakewood Lancers (Lakewood, CA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 22. Downey will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Lancers go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 48-46 non-league loss to Dos Pueblos (Goleta, CA).
