Weed Cougars (Weed, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Etna Lions (Etna, CA), 54-19 in a league bout.

With the victory, Weed upgrades its record to 18-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Mt. Shasta (Mt. Shasta, CA) to play the Bears in a Shasta Cascade bout on Friday, February 18. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 12-11. Mt. Shasta won 61-56 in their recent league bout against Fall River (McArthur, CA)

Next up, the Lions play the Hayfork Timberjacks (Hayfork, CA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 15. Etna will attempt to upgrade on its 1-20 season record. The Timberjacks come into the bout with a 5-15 record after their 48-43 league loss to Redding Christian (Palo Cedro, CA).
