Exeter Monarchs (Exeter, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Strathmore Spartans (Strathmore, CA), 57-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Exeter upgrades its record to 5-9 on the season. The Monarchs travel to Kingsburg (Kingsburg, CA) to play the Vikings in a Central Sequoia bout on Thursday, January 11. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 7-9. Kingsburg lost 74-47 in their recent non-league bout against Clovis (Clovis, CA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Woodlake Tigers (Woodlake, CA) in a East Sequoia bout, on Friday, January 12. Strathmore will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 5-13 record after their 62-21 non-league win over Summit Charter Collegiate Academy (Porterville, CA).
