Liberty Hawks (Madera, CA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host Kerman Lions (Kerman, CA), 37-35 in a league bout.

With the win, Liberty upgrades its record to 12-14 on the season. The Hawks host Washington Union (Fresno, CA) to play the Panthers in a North Sequoia bout on Friday, February 20. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 5-22. Washington Union lost 59-49 in their recent non-league bout against Sierra (Tollhouse, CA)

Next up, the Lions play the Yosemite Badgers (Oakhurst, CA) in a North Sequoia bout, on Friday, February 20. Kerman will attempt to upgrade on its 16-8 season record. The Badgers go into the bout with a 9-12 record after their 64-48 league win over Chowchilla (Chowchilla, CA).
