The Laton Mustangs (Laton, CA) basketball nipped the host Strathmore Spartans (Strathmore, CA), 43-36 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Mustangs (9-9) will now prepare for their test against Farmersville (Farmersville, CA). The Aztecs go into the East Sierra test with a 4-15 record. In their last test, Farmersville was tipped by McFarland (McFarland, CA), 70-52, in a league test.

The Spartans now own a 4-12 record. They take the field next when they host Lindsay for a East Sequoia test on Thursday, February 12. Strathmore will clash with a Cardinals squad coming off a 74-71 league loss to Corcoran (Corcoran, CA). The Cardinals record now stands at 16-9.
