Player of the Year
Natalie Wright has been named player of the year. "Natalie Wright is player of the year for the Spring 2017 season. She is a 4-year starter on varsity and as center. She has a mind-blowing sense of game, a very unique set of stick skills that made her very hard to defend, a smart attacker with a high shot percentage, and, I realize late, an unsung defender. I've never seen her tripped up or shaken off in the midfield and I've never seen a drive or a cut get passed her in the eight. She really is defense-centric. This shows off the field where she has the team in mind. She is always trying to support up-and-coming players (mostly without them knowing) and pushes the more advanced players to continue to improve. As a coach without an assistant, I relied heavily on Natalie and the rest of the captains input for strategy and how to improve the team. I am going to miss Natalie, Liat and Evie very much and wish them the very best."
