Nicky Armitage has been named player of the year. "Nicky is a player who is comfortable in any position on the field. He showed maturity in accepting a role in the center of defense when playing central midfield or striker would have suited him better. He embraced being a leader by example, and exhibited exemplary citizenship outside of the playing field. The respect he receives from each person he meets is telling of his demeanor. Nicky has a no nonsense attitude that the Vikings hope will rub off on the program for years to come. Not only did Nicky prevent goals from being scored on the vikings each and every game, he also contributed offensively with beautiful entry passes into the midfield, a few crafty goals and creative assists, all while directing the players in front of him with ease. It was a pleasure to coach someone who engulfs himself with focus at the right moments. We all look forward to monitoring the progress of such a tremendous person and athlete. "
