    Sarah Rich has been named player of the year. "and Sophie Karolczak both deserve this honor, but the Maxpreps program won't let me put two players at once... Sophie is the MVHS JV Most Valuable Player. She struck out over 100 batters and played near flawless defense on her way to an 11-6 record. She was second on the team hits (29), and tied for first in RBIs (21). Who was first on the team? SARAH RICH is the 2013 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR of the Santa Clara County Valley Athletic League El Camino Division. She led the entire league with a .507 batting average and a .707 slugging percentage over 22 games; led her team with 28 runs, 38 hits, and 21 RBIs. She was fearless behind the plate and ruthless on the base paths. Sarah and Sophie were the main reasons this year's MVHS JV team won 9 out of 12 league games and finished second only to an undefeated Saratoga team that we'll not see next season due to their varsity's ascension to the upper division. Congratulations to Sophie and Sarah, MVHS JV Players of the Year!"
