Sydney Hedges has been named player of the year. "Sydney has certainly had a marvelous season. For the season, she has averaged 21.0 ppg and 10.8 rpg, however, Sydney has also stepped it up when she needed to. In December, during the Bishop Diego Bird Cage Classic, Sydney was named the Tourney MVP because she had 26 ppg and 13.5 rpg. During our Division 6 championship run, Sydney averaged 25.7 ppg and 12.2 rpg. Of the top 50 players in Division 6, Sydney was the leader in free throw percentage at 84%. During the playoffs, and through much of the season, Sydney has had to deal with double and triple teams from various teams, but she still managed to perform at a high level. Sydney has been selected as the Santa Barbara City Co-MVP and the CIF Division 6 Player of the Year. She was All-CIF last year and had an even better year this season. Her Player of the Year selection was unanimous. It's been been a real honor to coach Sydney this year!"
