Spectators at Thursday's league match between the Agoura Chargers (Agoura, CA) and the visiting Simi Valley Pioneers (Simi Valley, CA), witnessed Agoura's softball squad tip Simi Valley by a count of 1-0.

The Chargers now sport a 8-7 record. They play next when they travel to Beckman for a non-league match on Saturday, April 25. Agoura will meet a Patriots squad coming off a 11-1 league win over University (Irvine, CA). The Patriots record now stands at 12-5.

With the loss, Simi Valley moves to 14-7 on the season. The Pioneers host Calabasas (Calabasas, CA) to meet the Coyotes in a Marmonte match on Tuesday, April 28. The Coyotes go into the match with a record of 2-14. Calabasas lost 6-0 in their recent league match against Westlake (Westlake Village, CA)

It was a classic pitching duel between Simi's Amanda Olivet and Agoura's Stephanie Lord. Agoura came to bat in the bottom of the 7th inning in a scoreless tie. Shortstop Julie Lewis worked it to a full count before she popped a fly ball down the left field line into short left field. The ball was dropped by Simi, and Lewis ended up at second. The Chargers' Kelli Barmasse sacrificed Lewis to third, as the winning run scored one batter later on a sacrifice fly by Jamie DePippo. Lord shut out Simi on four scattered singles. Olivet hurled a no-hitter in the losing effort.
