Alameda Hornets (Alameda, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Berkeley Yellowjackets (Berkeley, CA), 12-2 in a league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 10-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to San Leandro for a West Alameda County - Foothill challenge on Friday, April 20. Alameda will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 13-0 league loss to Castro Valley (Castro Valley, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 4-11.

With the loss, Berkeley falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Arroyo (San Lorenzo, CA) to battle the Dons in a West Alameda County - Foothill challenge on Friday, April 20. The Dons enter the challenge with a record of 3-9. Arroyo lost 3-1 in their recent league challenge against Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, CA)
