The Carmel Padres softball team scored 6 points and limited the visiting Gonzales Spartans to 5 in the Padres league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Carmel moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Padres travel to Stevenson (Pebble Beach, CA) to play the Pirates in a Mission Trail game on Monday, March 30. The Pirates come into the game with a record of 5-3. Stevenson lost 7-0 in their recent non-league game against San Lorenzo Valley (Felton, CA)

In their next game, the Spartans play the Santa Catalina Cougars (Monterey, CA) in a Mission Trail game, on Tuesday, March 31. Gonzales will attempt to move on its 6-4 season record. The Cougars come into the game with a 2-1 record after their 2-2 non-league Leland (San Jose, CA).
