Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Colusa Redskins (Colusa, CA) and the host Willows Honkers (Willows, CA), witnessed Colusa's softball squad tip Willows by a count of 3-2.

The Redskins now sport a 5-3 record. They play next when they host Durham for a Sacramento Valley match on Tuesday, March 23. Colusa will meet a Trojans squad coming off a 7-5 non-league loss to Sparks (Sparks, NV). The Trojans record now stands at 2-7.

With the loss, Willows moves to 4-6 on the season. The Honkers travel to Live Oak (Live Oak, CA) to meet the Lions in a Sacramento Valley match on Tuesday, March 23. The Lions go into the match with a record of 5-0. Live Oak won 12-0 in their recent non-league match against Orland (Orland, CA)

Any close exciting game, probably like most throughout the season will be. This could be the year of the pitcher in the valley as Tiffany Friel and Brittany Brothers locked horns in a pitching dual.

The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning, Colusa had held Willows without a run in the top half, with the International tie breaker in effect Kayla Cunha started the inning on 2nd base and Andee Clare at bat Cunha reached 3rd on a fake bunt that caused a dropped ball by the Willows catcher, 2 pitches later Clare drilled a shot over the drawn in centerfielder for a walk off base hit and game winning rbi.
