The Yreka Miners (Yreka, CA) softball nipped the visiting Corning Cardinals (Corning, CA), 6-5 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Miners (6-7) will now prepare for their bout against Westwood (Westwood, CA). The Lumberjacks go into the non-league bout with a 7-1 record. In their last bout, Westwood held off Tulelake (Tulelake, CA), 10-0, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Cardinals play the Lassen Grizzlies (Susanville, CA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, April 22. Corning will attempt to move on its 8-8 season record. The Grizzlies come into the contest with a 8-11 record after their 5-3 league loss to Oroville (Oroville, CA).
