The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Schurr Spartans (Montebello, CA) and the visiting Diamond Bar Brahmas (Diamond Bar, CA), saw Schurr's softball squad nip Diamond Bar by a count of 8-3.

The Spartans now sport a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they host Montebello for a Almont match on Tuesday, April 17. Schurr will face a Oilers squad coming off a 15-6 non-league win over Bellflower (Bellflower, CA). The Oilers record now stands at 11-3.

With the loss, Diamond Bar falls to 5-7 on the campaign. The Brahmas travel to Fallbrook (Fallbrook, CA) to face the Warriors in a non-league match on Friday, April 6. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 9-4. Fallbrook lost 3-2 in their recent non-league match against Palo Verde (Las Vegas, NV)

Diamond Bar scored three runs in the sixth inning on Liz Rubalcava's three-run shot but it wasn't enough as Schurr of Montebello tallied seven hits en route to an 8-3 win in the Spring Jamboree April 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rubalcava went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Lizzy McCabe had two hits, including a double for the Brahmas (5-6-1). Starter Julie Walters took the pitching loss after giving up five runs on four hits in three innings of work. Brianna Gonzalez allowed three runs on three hits in three innings of relief for Diamond Bar.
