Spectators at Tuesday's league match between the Johansen Vikings (Modesto, CA) and the visiting Downey Knights (Modesto, CA), witnessed Johansen's softball squad tip Downey by a count of 11-10.

The Vikings now sport a 9-11 record. They play next when they travel to Davis for a Modesto Metro match on Tuesday, May 1. Johansen will meet a Spartans squad coming off a 6-0 league win over Downey (Modesto, CA). The Spartans record now stands at 11-8.

With the loss, Downey moves to 1-10 on the season. The Knights host Davis (Modesto, CA) to meet the Spartans in a Modesto Metro match on Monday, April 30. The Spartans go into the match with a record of 10-8. Davis won 4-0 in their recent league match against Gregori (Modesto, CA)

The Downey Knights girls' softball team staged an eight inning comeback in the top of the sixth only to fall short of an 11-10 win. In the bottom of the 7th Gabrielle Maurice and Sydney Vasquez scored the game tieing and winning runs respectively off a triple by senior Jazmine Pedrotti. Ashley Wohler was the winning pitcher for the Vikings. Gabrielle Maurice went 3-3 with a double, and a HR, she also scored 4 runs, and had 3 RBI's. Jazmine Pedrotti also went 3-3 with a triple and 4 RBI's. Ashley Wohler went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI's.
