Downey Knights (Modesto, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Turlock Bulldogs (Turlock, CA), 10-4 in a league challenge.

The Knights now own a 5-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Enochs for a Central California Athletic challenge on Monday, May 8. Downey will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 13-2 league win over Modesto (Modesto, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 17-2.

With the loss, Turlock falls to 4-18 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Gregori (Modesto, CA) to battle the Jaguars in a Central California Athletic challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 18-7. Gregori won 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Downey (Modesto, CA)
