In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Etna Lions softball team scored a nice 14-1 win over the Maxwell Panthers.

The Lions (6-3) will now prepare for their match against Yreka (Yreka, CA). The Miners come into the non-league match with a 1-11 record. In their last match, Yreka notched a victory over Hidden Valley/Illinois Valley (Grants Pass, OR), 14-4, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Portola Tigers (Portola, CA) in a Mid-Valley match, on Wednesday, April 2. Maxwell will attempt to better on its 2-9 season record. The Tigers come into the match with a 7-5 record after their 18-9 non-league loss to Chester (Chester, CA).
