The Honkers took control early against Gridley in an 8-0 win in the single elimination round of the Anderson tourney on Saturday, March 23rd. Rylee Smith led off the game with a double and Megan Hughes followed with a singled leaving runners on the corners for Samantha Brott who had an RBI single to score Smith. Hughes would score later on a wild pitch. In the T-2, Kaylin Renfro singled and Delainy Ward followed up with a double, leaving runners on second and third. Smith had her second hit of the game an RBI single to score Renfro. Hughes would have her second hit of the game a 2 RBI double scoring Ward and Smith. The Honkers would tack on 3 more in the T-5 on a single by Megan Hughes, a run scoring double by Samantha Brott and a single by Morgan Hughes who scored on an error off the bat of Kassidy Millen. Brott got the win on the mound only allowing 4 hits, 1K and only 1 walk.
