The Salinas Cowboys triumphed over the visiting Monterey Toreadors softball squad by a count of 7-0 in Thursday's league challenge.

Next, the Cowboys play the Pacific Grove Breakers (Pacific Grove, CA) in a PCAL - Gabilan challenge, on Friday, May 8. Salinas will attempt to upgrade on its 16-7 season record. The Breakers enter the challenge with a 5-17 record after their 8-7 league loss to Watsonville (Watsonville, CA).

The Toreadors (13-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Hollister (Hollister, CA). The Haybalers enter the PCAL - Gabilan challenge with a 19-5 record. In their last challenge, Hollister edged Willow Glen (San Jose, CA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.
