The Morro Bay Pirates (Morro Bay, CA) softball nipped the visiting Templeton Eagles (Templeton, CA), 2-1 in Friday's league bout.

The Pirates (16-3) will now prepare for their bout against Santa Ynez (Santa Ynez, CA). The Pirates go into the Los Padres bout with a 4-12 record.

With the loss, Templeton falls to 6-10 on the campaign. The Eagles host St. Joseph (Santa Maria, CA) to face the Knights in a Los Padres challenge on Tuesday, April 28. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 12-8. St. Joseph won 6-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Burbank (Burbank, CA)

In another close game the Eagles fell short by one run to Morro Bay with a final score of 2-1. Outstanding pitching by both teams resulted in only four hits combined. The Pirates started their first with a walk to Gacad, followed by DuClos being hit by the first pitch. Gacad scored on a throwing error by the catcher. Ramos started the Pirate fourth with a triple and scored on an error by second. In the Templeton fifth Johnson was hit by a pitch and scored on a triple by Ford. Dauer struck out seventeen for Morro Bay.
