The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Salinas Cowboys (Salinas, CA) and the visiting Mountain View Spartans (Mountain View, CA), observed Salinas's softball team get by Mountain View by a tally of 5-1.

The Cowboys (3-0) will now prepare for their bout against Mills (Millbrae, CA). The Vikings go into the non-league bout with a 1-0 record. In their last bout, Mills nudged Wilcox (Santa Clara, CA), 6-1, in a non-league contest.

The Spartans now hold a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to Soquel for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 28. Mountain View will face a Knights squad coming off a 4-1 non-league win over Live Oak (Morgan Hill, CA). The Knights record now stands at 2-0.
