Wheatland Pirates (Wheatland, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Winters Warriors (Winters, CA), 13-10 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 14-8 record. They take the field next when they host Las Plumas for a Butte View challenge on Thursday, April 23. Wheatland will battle a Thunderbirds squad coming off a 10-3 league win over Gridley (Gridley, CA). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 17-10.

With the loss, Winters falls to 13-10 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Sutter (Sutter, CA) to battle the Huskies in a Butte View challenge on Friday, April 24. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 25-0. Sutter won 6-0 in their recent league challenge against Orland (Orland, CA)
