Olathe Pirates (Olathe, CO) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Rangely Panthers (Rangely, CO), 49-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Olathe upgrades its record to 1-7 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Basalt (Basalt, CO) to battle the Longhorns in a 3A Western Slope battle on Friday, January 25. The Longhorns come into the battle with a record of 0-9. Basalt lost 58-38 in their recent league battle against Coal Ridge (New Castle, CO)

The Panthers (8-5) will now prepare for their battle against De Beque (De Beque, CO). The Dragons come into the non-league battle with a 2-8 record. In their last battle, De Beque was nudged by Ouray (Ouray, CO), 82-46, in a league battle.
