The Basalt Longhorns softball team (Basalt, CO), was routed 13-2 in Saturday's league test with the visiting Cedaredge Bruins (Cedaredge, CO)

Coming up next, the Bruins encounter the Gunnison Cowboys (Gunnison, CO) in a 3A District 5 test, on Thursday, October 8. Cedaredge will attempt to improve on its 10-6 season record. The Cowboys come into the test with a 7-8 record after their 12-2 non-league loss to Rifle (Rifle, CO).

The Longhorns (7-10) will now prepare for their test against Aspen (Aspen, CO). The Skiers come into the 3A District 5 test with a 0-10 record. In their last test, Aspen was routed by Eagle Valley (Gypsum, CO), 16-6, in a non-league test.
