Basalt Longhorns (Basalt, CO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Cedaredge Bruins (Cedaredge, CO), 12-3 in a league challenge.

The Longhorns now own a 8-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Green Mountain for a non-league challenge on Monday, September 24. Basalt will face a Rams squad coming off a 4-3 league loss to D'Evelyn (Denver, CO). The Rams record now stands at 7-5.

With the loss, Cedaredge falls to 4-10 on the campaign. The Bruins travel to Grand Valley (Parachute, CO) to meet the Cardinals in a 3A District 5 match on Saturday, September 29. The Cardinals go into the match with a record of 2-10.
