The Greenwich Cardinals baseball team scored 15 points and limited the visiting Danbury Hatters to 3 in the Cardinals league victory on Wednesday.
The Cardinals (1-3) will now prepare for their match against Bassick (Bridgeport, CT). The Lions go into the Fairfield County match with a 0-3 record. In their last match, Bassick was overwhelmed by Staples (Westport, CT), 10-0, in a league test.
With the defeat, Danbury falls to 1-3 on the season. The Hatters host Wilton (Wilton, CT) to battle the Warriors in a Fairfield County test on Friday, April 17. The Warriors come into the test with a record of 4-1. Wilton won 1-0 in their recent league test against New Canaan (New Canaan, CT)

The Greenwich Cardinals jumped on the Hatters early and never looked back in a 15-3 victory on Wednesday. After a leadoff walk to Adam Franchella in the bottom of the first, the Cardinals strung together four consecutive hits on their way to a five-run outburst. They added four more in the second, highlighted by a three-run homer to left by Kevin Collins. A strong five-inning performance by Yuta Okazaki kept the Hatters in check, allowing five hits and one run. Danbury was led by Anthony Mannuccia, with a double, triple, and walk, and Donald Miller, who belted a single and a double. Ricky Riscica had two hits and three rbis for Greenwich, while Collins had two singles in addition to his three-run blast for four rbis.
