Greenwich defeated Danbury in a 12-9 slugfest at the Hatters' field. Greenwich jumped out to a 9-1 lead by the fourth, when Danbury tied it with 8 two-out runs on a total of seven hits. The big blows were a 2-run double by Anthony Mannuccia and a 2-run triple by Brendan Melanophy. Greenwich rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh to put the game away on hits by James Dillard, Mike Dunster, and Jeff Devico, and a bases-loaded walk to Adam Franchella. Mike Stolfi settled down after relieving starter Jason Grabowski in the fourth, allowing no runs in the final three innings, to pick up the win for the Cardinals. Dunster was 3-5 to lead the 15-hit attack. Chris Fiddner, the Danbury starter, had three hits and made several outstanding catches in center field to keep the Hatters within striking distance.
