The Danbury Hatters held off the visiting Stamford Black Knights baseball team by a score of 7-6 in Friday's league game.

The Hatters (9-5) will now prepare for their game against Westhill (Stamford, CT). The Vikings go into the Fairfield County game with a 3-5 record.

The Black Knights (2-8) will now prepare for their game against Ridgefield (Ridgefield, CT). The Tigers go into the Fairfield County game with a 12-2 record. In their last game, Ridgefield tipped Bridgeport Central (Bridgeport, CT), 11-1, in a league game.

Cory Brosz singled with two out in the bottom of the seventh and Mike Schweitzer gapped a double to right center to plate the winning run in a walk-off 7-6 win over Stamford. The Hatters scored in first on a leadoff home run by Marquise Marrero, but Stamford took the lead in the second on a two-run homer by starting pitcher Tyler Kane. Danbury went back on top in the bottom of the inning on rbi singles by Lenny Rodriguez and Ricky Flannery. The Black Knights took the lead back in the third on a two-run single by Paul Battinelli. The Hatters tied it on a single by Schweitzer, scoring Brosz. Danbury went ahead in the bottom of the sixth on a two-out, two-run triple by Flannery, but two Stamford hits and two errors tied the game at 6-6 in the top of the seventh. Jack Grace went the distance on the mound to pick up his fourth win of the year (4-0).
