In Friday's league game, the host Danbury Hatters baseball team scored a tight 6-5 victory over the Wilton Warriors.
The Hatters (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Staples (Westport, CT). The Wreckers go into the Fairfield County game with a 3-0 record.
The Warriors (4-2) will now prepare for their game against Darien (Darien, CT). The Blue Wave go into the Fairfield County game with a 2-0 record.


Jon Skidmore went the distance for Danbury to defeat Wilton 6-5, despite seven Hatter errors. The senior right-hander struck out seven and walked one for his second win of the season. Wilton scored the first run of the game in the second without the benefit of a hit on two Danbury errors. The Hatters tied it in the third on Warrior throwing error and an rbi double by Ian Ratchford. Danbury took the lead for good in the fourth on singles by Mike Beers and Skidmore and a two-run double by Donald Miller. Wilton answered with two in the fifth on three Hatter miscues and an rbi single by Chris Judge. Danbury added two important insurance runs with a two-run single against a drawn-in infield by sophomore Robbie Meerman. Skidmore got a key first out in the seventh on a strikeout, but then yielded consecutive singles to Casey O'Brien, Chris Judge, and Jared Wyman to load the bases.
