Yulee Hornets (Yulee, FL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Fernandina Beach Pirates (Fernandina Beach, FL), 68-61 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Yulee upgrades its record to 11-4 on the campaign. The Hornets host Bolles (Jacksonville, FL) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A District 4 bout on Tuesday, January 20. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 3-10. Bolles lost 66-57 in their recent league bout against West Nassau (Callahan, FL)

Next up, the Pirates play the Trinity Christian Conquerors (Jacksonville, FL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 20. Fernandina Beach will attempt to upgrade on its 17-3 season record. The Conquerors come into the bout with a 8-8 record after their 74-34 non-league loss to Yulee (Yulee, FL).
