Katie McCarthy has been named player of the year. "As a senior captain Katie McCarthy led the Central Bears to their best record in over a decade (18-8). She batted .507 with 7 homeruns and 31 RBI's in spite of being moved to the leadoff position this year. She also help tighten down the Bear's defense at shortstop this year. The defense was able to cut the number of errors in half compared to the previous years campaign. "Hopefully I help change the culture and direction of the Central HS softball program through hard work and dedication". "
