"Coaches build structure and teams carry burdens together, but to be a good team you have to have special players, players who can rise above the norm and their competition. Players like Junior Outside Hitter, Myah DeSousa. Against quality competition you can't hope for mistakes but have to earn points with offense. In this category, in particular, Myah was exceptional - skiing above opponents, slamming down balls at difficult angles and creating a wall as a blocker. Simply put, she was a force. She was our go-to option and opponents knew it. Even still, she was able to carry us through with poise and good character. Myah has natural God-given gifts at 5'8 with exceptional vert but she's had that before. The difference this year was her impressive attitude towards the season and what she wanted to do with it. She listened, she adjusted, she worked hard, she tackled her fears and she handled the pressure. She grew up this year as a player and person. She makes us proud."
