Danny Brown has been named player of the year. "Danny's performance this year on the pitching mound capped a four year high school career of excellence. In 63.1 innings of pitching Brown generated a 1.88 ERA with 82 strikeouts and only 19 walks. His skill as a pitcher improved from an already high level to include an improved change-up, slider, and two seam fastball. He threw his assortment of pitches with command and authority much to the dismay of batters he faced. At the plate, Brown lead the team in hitting with a batting average of .429. This remarkable statistic does not include the many well hit balls that defenders successfully fielded. Brown's approach and success at the plate improved as the season progressed and the pitchers he faced got better. Brown's batting statistics include: 108 plate appearances, 91 at bats, 39 hits (23 singles, 12 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs), 14 RBIs, 3 hit by pitch, 6 reached on error, 3 fielder's choice, 12 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Defensively, when Brown was not pitching, he played a strong short stop position. Combined defensive stats show 94 total chances, broken down as 58 assists, 27 put outs, 4 double plays, and 9 errors. "
