Vanguard Knights (Ocala, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Belleview Rattlers /Diamo (Belleview, FL), 8-7 in a league challenge.

The Knights now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Port for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 23. Vanguard will battle a Wolf Pack squad coming off a 16-6 league win over Central (Brooksville, FL). The Wolf Pack record now stands at 2-10.

With the loss, Belleview falls to 9-6 on the campaign. The Rattlers /diamo travel to Lake Weir (Ocala, FL) to battle the Hurricanes in a 4A District 5 challenge on Thursday, March 24. The Hurricanes enter the challenge with a record of 8-4. Lake Weir lost 6-1 in their recent league challenge against North Marion (Citra, FL)
