Haley Watson has been named player of the year. "Haley Watson finished the year as the leading scorer for the Lady Matadors. She averaged 12.5 points per game, 1.8 assists, 5.7 rebounds, 3.2 steals, and .4 blocks. Haley scored a total of 275 points. If you extrapolate that over a four year career, she would be in the 1000-point club. She was a great player and she was an even greater teammate. Her leadership, her energy and passion, her comforting spirit is what makes her the player of the year. The team believed because Haley believed. She has a story to tell and it played out during this basketball season. She has faced adversity at every turn and has overcome it all. If I had a player like Haley to coach every year, I would be the winningest coach of all time! Thank you Haley for being such a great teammate!"
