Tia Williams

Tia Williams has been named player of the year. "Tia was definitely my best player, go to player and leader. She only knows one way to play and that's hard all game long. She also took on the challenging role of the point guard. The point guard position is the most critical and important position on the team. You have to be confident, willing, and mentally tough because everything starts with you and you are an extension of the coach on the floor. Tia accepted the role and did a great job filling the shoes of being a true point guard. Although her PPG average is not real high, she lead us to a 20 - 9 season and to the state playoffs. Those wins happened because she got her teammates involved. We always had seven or more players score in all of our victories. She also lead the charge to significant wins over state playoff teams such as Dodge County, Turner County, Crisp County and Veterans. Another significant goal she helped the Lady Eagles accomplish was earning the best record in the county. We finished with a 7 - 1 county record. This goal is always difficult to achieve because all records are thrown out when the county teams compete. All the schools play hard and play to win. Overall, I would definitely rank her as the best and most productive player in Houston County this year. She was a factor on both ends of the floor and a big reason why we had so much success. Her impact will definitely be missed next season . "
