Illinois High School Basketball - Waltonville tops Crab Orchard
January 2, 2024: Marion, IL 62959 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Waltonville Spartans (Waltonville, IL) and the host Crab Orchard Trojans (Marion, IL), saw Waltonville's basketball squad knock off Crab Orchard by a count of 79-71.
With the victory, Waltonville upgrades its record to 12-1 on the campaign. The Spartans host Webber (Bluford, IL) to play the Trojans in a Midland Trail challenge on Friday, January 5. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 12-1. Webber won 55-38 in their recent league challenge against Woodlawn (Woodlawn, IL)
Next up, the Trojans play the Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Fighting Cardinals (Norris City, IL) in a Greater Egyptian challenge, on Friday, January 5. Crab Orchard will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Fighting Cardinals come into the challenge with a 3-10 record after their 44-37 non-league loss to Carmi-White County (Carmi, IL).
