January 2, 2024: Lubbock, TX 79423 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Wellman-Union Wildcats (Wellman, TX) and the host All Saints Episcopal School Patriots (Lubbock, TX), saw Wellman-Union's basketball squad hold off All Saints Episcopal School by a count of 46-40.
With the victory, Wellman-Union upgrades its record to 1-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Klondike (Lamesa, TX) to play the Cougars in a 1A Region I District 8 challenge on Friday, January 5. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Klondike won 42-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Garden City (Garden City, TX)
Next up, the Patriots play the Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy Eagles (Midland, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 5. All Saints Episcopal School will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 0-6 record after their 46-12 non-league loss to Midessa (Odessa, TX).
