Texas High School Basketball - Klondike nudges Garden City
January 2, 2024: Garden City, TX 79739 Klondike Cougars (Lamesa, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Garden City Bearkats (Garden City, TX), 42-40 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Klondike upgrades its record to 7-4 on the season. The Cougars travel to Wellman-Union (Wellman, TX) to clash with the Wildcats in a 1A Region I District 8 bout on Friday, January 5. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 1-6. Wellman-Union won 46-40 in their recent non-league bout against All Saints Episcopal School (Lubbock, TX)
Next up, the Bearkats clash with the Robert Lee Steers (Robert Lee, TX) in a 1A Region II District 11 bout, on Friday, January 5. Garden City will attempt to upgrade on its 17-5 season record. The Steers go into the bout with a 18-5 record after their 60-30 non-league win over Rankin (Rankin, TX).
