January 3, 2023: Armorel, AR 72310 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Maynard Tigers (Maynard, AR) and the host Armorel Tigers (Armorel, AR), saw Maynard's basketball squad hold off Armorel by a count of 44-40.
With the victory, Maynard upgrades its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Hillcrest (Strawberry, AR) to play the Screamin Eagles in a 1A Region 3 challenge on Thursday, January 5. The Screamin Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 4-9. Hillcrest lost 58-20 in their recent league challenge against Marked Tree (Marked Tree, AR)
Next up, the Tigers play the Mammoth Spring Bears (Mammoth Spring, AR) in a 1A Region 3 challenge, on Saturday, January 7. Armorel will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 12-8 record after their 62-42 non-league loss to Cotter (Cotter, AR).
