Harrison Central Red Rebels (Gulfport, MS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Hancock Hawks (Kiln, MS), 54-52 in a league bout.

With the victory, Harrison Central upgrades its record to 12-7 on the campaign. The Red Rebels travel to Biloxi (Biloxi, MS) to play the Indians in a 6A Region 8 bout on Thursday, January 5. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 12-1. Biloxi won 71-36 in their recent non-league bout against Vigor (Prichard, AL)

Next up, the Hawks play the Gulfport Admirals (Gulfport, MS) in a 6A Region 8 bout, on Wednesday, January 11. Hancock will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record.
