The Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV) basketball nipped the visiting Logan Wildcats (Logan, WV), 50-49 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Miners (4-3) will now prepare for their test against Wyoming East (New Richmond, WV). The Warriors go into the Coalfield AA test with a 5-1 record. In their last test, Wyoming East got by PikeView (Princeton, WV), 53-50, in a non-league test.

The Wildcats now own a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Winfield for a Cardinal test on Friday, January 6. Logan will encounter a Generals squad coming off a 60-45 non-league loss to Fairmont Senior (Fairmont, WV). The Generals record now stands at 5-3.
