The McLean Highlanders basketball team scored 65 points and held the visiting Herndon Hornets to 53 in the Highlanders league triumph on Wednesday.

The Highlanders now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Yorktown for a District 2 contest on Friday, January 5.

The Hornets (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against George C. Marshall (Falls Church, VA). The Statesmen enter the District 2 contest with a 11-2 record. In their last contest, George C. Marshall ran past Langley (McLean, VA), 54-32, in a league contest.
