Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the McLean Highlanders (McLean, VA) and the host Herndon Hornets (Herndon, VA), saw McLean's basketball squad hold off Herndon by a count of 59-53.

With the victory, McLean upgrades its record to 13-4 on the campaign. The Highlanders travel to George C. Marshall (Falls Church, VA) to play the Statesmen in a District 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Statesmen come into the challenge with a record of 14-4. George C. Marshall won 53-45 in their recent league challenge against Langley (McLean, VA)

Next up, the Hornets play the Washington-Liberty Generals (Arlington, VA) in a District 2 challenge, on Saturday, January 27. Herndon will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Generals come into the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 46-32 league loss to George C. Marshall (Falls Church, VA).
