Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) and the host T.C. Roberson Rams (Asheville, NC), saw McDowell's basketball squad hold off T.C. Roberson by a tally of 62-57.

With the victory, McDowell improves its record to 10-1 on the campaign. The Titans host South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to encounter the Spartans in a non-league test on Friday, January 5. The Spartans go into the test with a record of 8-5. South Caldwell won 67-57 in their recent non-league test against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)

The Rams now own a 5-7 record. They play next when they host North Buncombe for a 3A/4A Mountain test on Friday, January 5. T.C. Roberson will encounter a Black Hawks squad coming off a 78-75 league win over A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC). The Black Hawks record now stands at 8-5.
