The Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) basketball edged the visiting North Lincoln Knights (Lincolnton, NC), 80-78 in Friday's league bout.

The Red Tornadoes now possess a 4-1 record. They play next when they host St. Stephens for a 3A Western Foothills bout on Tuesday, January 7. Hickory will play a Indians team coming off a 84-61 league win over North Iredell (Olin, NC). The Indians record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, North Lincoln falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Knights travel to North Iredell (Olin, NC) to play the Raiders in a 3A Western Foothills bout on Tuesday, January 7. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 4-8. North Iredell lost 84-61 in their recent league bout against St. Stephens (Hickory, NC)
