Game Summary
We again played a strong first half, probably our best first half of the season, We began strong and were sure we scored a goal on a shot that headed down off the crossbar and over the goalline. Everybody but the refs (and maybe Chiles) saw it our way, so we stayed off the board. Chiles again maintained control of the action, and kept our defense busy. Emma made a great save of a 1-v-1 shot in the last minute of the half; but they got their first on a well-placed boot that sailed high just out of Emma's reach—several seconds after the clock passed 0:00. Despite the disappointing deficit, we knew we'd played very well, and looked forward to the last 40. But our positivity was muted when they got another goal just 2 minutes after the break, and it was drowned as more scores followed in the 54th, 58th, 70th, and 77th minutes. We were pummeled with 25 attempts, a remarkable 20 on goal. Just not our night...
