North Carolina High School Basketball - Cox Mill can't hold off Weddington
January 4, 2023: Matthews, NC 28104 The Weddington Warriors basketball team scored 37 points and held the visiting Cox Mill Chargers to 33 in the Warriors non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Warriors now sport a 7-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Piedmont for a non-league contest on Friday, January 6. Weddington will battle a Panthers team coming off a 51-28 non-league loss to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 1-5.
The Chargers (3-5) will now prepare for their contest against Charlotte Country Day School (Charlotte, NC). The Buccaneers enter the non-league contest with a 5-1 record. In their last contest, Charlotte Country Day School nudged Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, NC), 56-48, in a non-league contest.
