Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots (Tulare, SD) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Northwestern Area Wildcats (Mellette, SD), 47-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Hitchcock-Tulare upgrades its record to 2-4 on the season. The Patriots travel to McLaughlin (McLaughlin, SD) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 6. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 7-2. McLaughlin won 39-37 in their recent league bout against Crow Creek (Stephan, SD)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Estelline/Hendricks (Estelline, SD) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Northwestern Area will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The go into the bout with a 3-4 record after their 52-38 non-league loss to St. Mary (Dell Rapids, SD).
